Gunther will force massive change in Cody Rhodes in a year, believes WWE veteran
WWE Superstars Gunther and Cody Rhodes are the reigning world champions on RAW and SmackDown respectively. Dennis Knight, formerly known as Mideon, has proposed that The Ring General could have a substantial impact on The American Nightmare's character in the future.
Knight wrestled for the Stamford-based promotion from 1996 to 2001. Mideon was a member of The Undertaker's stable, The Ministry of Darkness. The former European Champion eventually retired from wrestling and became a chef. However, he expressed interest in returning to the industry as a creative team member or on-screen personality.
Cody won the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania XL in Philadelphia by defeating Roman Reigns. Whereas, Gunther bagged the World Heavyweight Title after pinning Damian Priest at SummerSlam 2024.
In a recent appearance on The Undertaker's Six Feet Under w/Mark Calaway podcast, Mideon predicted that The American Nightmare would turn heel in a year and believes Gunther should be the one to defeat him at WrestleMania 42. The 55-year-old veteran suggested that Cody Rhodes' heel turn will be motivated by resentment towards the WWE Universe for prioritizing his father Dusty Rhodes' legacy over his own.
"I think the Cody (Rhodes' heel) turn is going to be phenomenal. I would give it another year," said Knight. "Gunther I think can be that guy. I think, Gunther, work it to WrestleMania (42), Gunther and Cody, and have Gunther beat Cody and then have Cody turn heel and say, 'You guys never gave a s**t about me, you just cared about my dad and the story and whatever you wanted to put on me. I'm here because your lives s**k and you're miserable, so you were living vicariously through me,'" he added. [From 56:51 to 58:06]
