Gunther will pin Randy Orton clean at Bash in Berlin for a major reason, predicts WWE Hall of Famer
Gunther and Randy Orton have a history in WWE and now the two stars are preparing for their second encounter, which will be for the World Heavyweight Championship. Meanwhile, Bubba Ray Dudley, aka Bully Ray, predicted the finish of their match at Bash in Berlin.
Gunther isn't even a week into his reign as the World Heavyweight Champion and Randy Orton appeared out of nowhere on Monday Night RAW after WWE SummerSlam 2024 as his first challenger. The two are set to face each other at Bash in Berlin for the title in less than four weeks.
Speaking on the Busted Open podcast, WWE Hall of Famer stated that The Ring General will go over The Viper clean in Germany. Moreover, he noted that the finish to the match could be similar to Ric Flair vs. Ricky Steamboat from Chi-Town Rumble 1989 where Steamboat won clean by reversing the Figure Four Leg Lock into a pin.
"A [Ric] Flair and [Ricky] Steamboat finish is what probably makes the most sense. Do I want to see Gunther go over Randy [Orton]? Yes. Do I want to see Gunther beat Randy Orton with his finish...Where Gunther covers Randy one... two... three... and Randy's still on his back? Absolutely not. You know how I want to see Gunther win? With a small package, with an inside cradle, or with a backslide. I want to see back and forth, counter for counter, move for move, and all of a sudden, there's that one little thing where Gunther can keep Randy's shoulders down for three and one-quarter second," Ray said. What happened the last time Gunther faced Randy Orton at WWE King & Queen of the Ring 2024?
Earlier this year, Gunther dominated Monday Night RAW upon losing his Intercontinental Championship to Sami Zayn at WrestleMania XL. The Ring General made it to the King of the Ring tournament finals from the red bracket.
Meanwhile, Randy Orton defeated AJ Styles, Carmelo Hayes, and The Bloodline's Tama Tonga to reach the finals. The two stars met in a massive showdown at WWE King and Queen of the Ring 2024 in Saudi Arabia.
However, Gunther's win was somewhat tainted as the referee counted three without noticing that one of Randy Orton's shoulders was up. The decision was final and The Ring General is now looking to fix the wrong from May 2024 when he defends his newly won title against The Viper at Bash in Berlin.
