Hall of Famer believes Cody Rhodes' real-life family member joining WWE could incite "jealousy and envy"
Cody Rhodes is currently on one of the greatest wrestling runs in WWE. The Undisputed WWE Champion has enjoyed a great return to the company that has seen him win his first world title.
Eric Bischoff discussed the possibility of Dustin Rhodes joining WWE amid rumors of his AEW contract ending. The latter is Cody's real-life brother, and the two worked as a tag team in WWE several times.
On his 83 Weeks podcast, the Hall of Famer stated that Dustin Rhodes' return to WWE would be a perfect send. Eric noted that Cody Rhodes could enjoy some great storylines with his brother.
"There's a tremendous amount of story that could be told in WWE," Bischoff said. "Because what is Dustin gonna do in AEW? He's been there for five years. What more is he going to do with his character? But in WWE, you could write a book, you could write a novel with the stories you could create with Dustin and Cody. Everything from Dustin being there for Cody and supporting Cody... Or you could go the other way. It could be jealousy and envy. All those things that make great movies and great stories."
Dustin recently mentioned that he could wrestle for a few more years, which could lead to some of his career's final storylines. Bischoff noted that he could go to WWE and become a mentor in NXT.
"Just look at what he's gone through, creatively, as a character," Bischoff said. "Dustin thinks differently than most people do. And he could be such added value. I hope he ends up in WWE [or] NXT." [H/T Wrestling Inc.]
Cody Rhodes is set to team up with his former rival, Roman Reigns, to take on The Bloodline.
Dustin Rhodes could help Cody Rhodes against The Bloodline
WWE fans have been hoping to see the two brothers reunite in WWE for a major rivalry. Many expected Dustin Rhodes to show up at WrestleMania XL to help Cody Rhodes, but contractual obligations would have kept him away from the event.
However, with his contract possibly coming up, Dustin could join his brother for a final run. The decision could see them go against The Bloodline as a tag team.
Fans have seen the two team up numerous times and win tag team gold twice. However, with Cody Rhodes’ current status in the company, their team could get better rivalries to help Dustin end his career on a high note.
