Hall of Famer blasts Damian Priest's WWE booking, says recent match was a letdown (Exclusive)
An NWA Hall of Famer recently criticized WWE World Heavyweight Damian Priest's booking, claiming that his latest match had no significant bearing on his character. The Hall of Famer in question, Bill Apter, also talked about how Braun Strowman was booked to look weak.
The Archer of Infamy had a match against Braun Strowman, although the World Heavyweight Championship was not at stake. Despite Braun's impressive strength, he was unable to get the win. This led to much discussion about the purpose of the match, drawing criticism from several veterans in the industry, including the legendary Bill Apter.
Speaking on Sportskeeda's UnSKripted, Bill Apter shared his thoughts on the matter and stated that the match should have closed out the show and that the bout seemed like any other contest.
"In the old days, in the old days that would have been, it's gonna be a special non-title match. If the World Champion was in the middle of the show. But I agree with you, the World Heavyweight Championship should have been the closing match. And here you have Braun Strowman who maybe a lot of fans think this guy might be a threat to the title. But it just seemed like another match, didn't it?" [24:36 onwards]
As of now, Damian Priest will turn his attention to Gunther with WWE SummerSlam coming up soon.
