Hall of Famer signs first WWE contract in 7 years
A WWE Hall of Famer signed a new Legends contract with the promotion following Bad Blood last night in Atlanta, Georgia. The Rock returned in the closing moments of last night's premium live event, and several other surprises took place during the show.
Several legends were spotted in the crowd during Bad Blood last night. Diamond Dallas Page attended the show to support Cody Rhodes as he teamed up with Roman Reigns to battle The Bloodline's Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu. Rhodes and Reigns picked up the victory after Jimmy Uso returned and got involved in the match.
Following Bad Blood, DDP took to his X (fka Twitter) account to announce that he had signed a new Legends contract and thanked Triple H. You can check his full message in his post below.
"I want to thank Paul Levesque, a.k.a. @TripleH for a hell of a time💥 With him at the helm of creative, along with the new owners of @TKOGrp, I personally had one of my favorite times at a #WWE event. Knowing my HOF career was made in WCW, regardless of how many close friends I had there at WWE, I never felt totally welcomed. Last night was different. When I got home tonight, I signed my Legends deal and sent it in," he wrote.
DDP compares WWE star to Shawn Michaels
Diamond Dallas Page recently praised Seth Rollins and compared him to WWE legend, Shawn Michaels.
In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling earlier this year, DDP discussed The Visionary's rivalry with Cody Rhodes and put Rollins on the same level as The Heartbreak Kid. The veteran also commented on Rhodes' journey to becoming champion.
"To come back home, to have those matches that he [Cody Rhodes] had with Seth, and the last one with a torn pec. Seth Rollins, I gotta put him up there with Shawn Michaels. I mean, he's that good. And Cody and him just stole it. Every night, they stole it. And [for Cody Rhodes] to go through and win the Rumble last year, to me, that was like destiny, but sometimes that gets swept away, and there's a reason for that because it's gonna be even better the second time," said DDP. DDP made some appearances for All Elite Wrestling over the past few years and competed in a match on the January 15, 2020, episode of Dynamite. It will be interesting to see if the 68-year-old makes any more appearances on WWE television in 2024.
