Hall of Famer thought WWE RAW would get "booed" after Samantha Irvin's exit for a major reason
Samantha Irvin left WWE hours before the latest episode of RAW. Her exit surprised many in the WWE Universe, and a Hall of Famer recently spoke about the void she's left behind.
Bully Ray appeared on Busted Open Radio to discuss Monday night's RAW. He noted that Samantha Irvin had brought a lot of spotlight to an aspect of sports entertainment that was ignored earlier.
Ray was all praise for Irvin, who had a great stay in WWE. She built a huge fanbase that was left heartbroken by his exit. The Hall of Famer noted that she took her job to new heights.
"I think she has done a fantastic job, a phenomenal job," Ray said of Irvin. "Can't say enough nice things about the job that she has done professionally, and my interaction with her personally, very respectful, very nice lady. The whole nine yards. I thought she brought spotlight to a position that normally never gets spotlighted."
Bully Ray went on to say that he thought the crowd in Philadelphia would boo anyone who stepped into her role for the night. He was glad to see Lilian Garcia return to her former role, allowing the transition to be smooth.
"I was like, what do they do in this situation that ensures whoever is ring announcing tonight doesn't get booed by the Philadelphia crowd?' The Philly crowd, being as educated as they are, might hear a new voice and decide, 'Man, we don't want you' and start off with 'We want Samantha Irvin' chants or whatever." [H/T Wrestling Inc.]
It's incredible to see how well respected and loved Samantha Irvin was in WWE.
Samantha Irvin may not join AEW after leaving WWE
Many WWE fans believe that Irvin is headed to AEW to work alongside her fiance, Ricochet, after her exit from the company. The One and Only quickly clarified that she was not signing with AEW.
According to PWInsider, Samantha's contract does not have a non-compete clause. However, she is likely not to continue working in the wrestling world for some time.
Instead, she could focus on her music career and push it forward to see where life takes her. Her beautiful voice could help her become a music icon in the future.
