WWE News: Hardy Boyz not returning to WWE?
What’s the story?
Despite all the speculation and teasing, in a recent interview with Chuck Caroll of CBS Sports, Jeff Hardy confirmed that the Hardys won’t be making an appearance at WrestleMania 33.
Hardy also discussed the span of their current ROH deal, his lawsuit with Impact Wrestling and his ambitions apart from professional wrestling.

In case you didn’t know...
Recently, both Matt Hardy and WWE have teased the return of Hardys on multiple occasions on Twitter.
That match was pretty WONDERFUL, wasn't it? #WAMWednesday https://t.co/N4jK1B4KVx

WWE also highlighted the word 'Broken’ in one of their tweets, which is associated with Matt Hardy’s most recent “Broken” gimmick.

WWE usually boycotts references to the talents who are associated with other promotions but they have made an exception for the Hardys quite a few times within the last month.
The heart of the matter
In the interview, Jeff stated that he and Matt Hardy hadn't received any contracts from WWE:
” No, because you have to go through so much testing and all of that. It’s a long process. But, no. We know some people there and naturally after WrestleMania dies down, maybe a couple of months from now, we’ll see what’s possible. But there is no truth to that whatsoever.”
He also clarified that he and his brother would not be appearing at the Raw or SmackDown tapings after WrestleMania either as their current deal with ROH will prevent them from doing so.
He said that their deal with Ring of Honor will keep them with the promotion throughout the summer.

Jeff Hardy also mentioned that he would like to use his time at ROH to elevate his music career. Hardy said that he aspires to perform as a musician at a wrestling show some day and that WWE may not be open to this idea.
The Extreme Enigma also discussed how disappointing it was to fight for the characters that he and his brother had created and mentioned that ROH was doing the right thing by not including the references to the ‘Broken’ gimmick in their product.
What’s next?
The Hardys will defend the ROH World Tag Team Championship in a ladder match at Supercard of Honor XI against Young Bucks, the night before WrestleMania 33.
Author’s take
The thought that the Hardys won’t be returning WrestleMania is pretty sad indeed. All the tweets and the ladder match stipulation at ‘Mania implicitly pointed at Hardys’ homecoming at the Grandest Stage of Them All, but Jeff managed to undermine all the speculations with these recent assertions.
In spite of Jeff’s claims, there is still a possibility that the Hardys will return to WWE on ‘Mania. You can never say never in wrestling and this interview may just be Hardy’s effort to not blow up their epic comeback.
There have been so many reports and rumours about the Hardys' return to WWE that we have reached a point where nothing can be predicted. All we can do is wait and watch.
