"He fell awkwardly" - Tommy Dreamer voices concern over risky spot featuring 330lb WWE Superstar on RAW

WWE and ECW legend Tommy Dreamer has ample experience to be knowledgeable about dangerous spots and maneuvers within the squared circle. The veteran recently expressed concern over a recent risky spot involving 330-pound superstar Otis on Monday Night RAW which could have resulted in a severe neck injury.

On the August 12, 2024, edition of the red brand, Alpha Academy members Otis and Akira Tozawa competed against the Creed Brothers in a Texas Tornado match. At one point during the contest, Julius Creed hoisted the former Mr. Money in the Bank onto his shoulders, only for the latter to reverse the situation by delivering a superplex to Brutus Creed from the top rope.

As a result, the 330lb WWE star landed awkwardly on his neck but, fortunately, a serious injury was avoided as he continued to wrestle. Ultimately, American Made emerged victorious over the Alpha Academy in a hard-fought battle.

On the Busted Open podcast, Tommy Dreamer claimed that all the superstars involved in this spot slightly missed their timing when executing the move. The 53-year-old ECW veteran expressed concern that Otis could have broken his neck and was relieved that such a serious injury was avoided.

"With that specific spot, you're so dependent on the person who is powerbombing you. However, this was one of the Creed Brothers, (who) hooks Otis underneath, suplex (...) that is the biggest timing you ever need. Here's how it kind of went awry because you're not going for a powerbomb, he was on his shoulders to hold him. And, he went back, Otis started to go before the Creed Brother went and could have broke Otis' neck. He fell awkwardly, thankfully he did not get hurt," said Dreamer. [From 00:48 to 01:31]

Otis failed to win the singles WWE title on a recent show

Following the tag team match on RAW, the Alpha Academy member issued a challenge to Oba Femi for the NXT North American Championship. During the August 13, 2024, installment of the white-and-gold brand, Otis locked horns with the Nigerian star.

Although the WWE Universe rallied behind the former RAW Tag Team Champion, it wasn't enough to secure a victory. Oba Femi successfully defended his North American Championship against a stiff challenge from the 32-year-old star.

It remains to be seen if the Alpha Academy star wins a singles championship in WWE in the future.
