"He finally deserves some karma" - 34-year-old WWE star wants to test himself against CM Punk
CM Punk is on the list of several top and upcoming WWE Superstars as their dream opponent. However, former Tag Team Champion Grayson Waller wants to test himself against The Second City Saint.
Earlier this year, CM Punk returned from hiatus and went after Drew McIntyre. In the coming months, The Second City Saint re-established himself as the top face of the brand and helped The OG Bloodline along the way at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames in Canada.
In an exclusive interview with Wide World of Sports, the 34-year-old star stated he wants to test himself against The Best In The World. Moreover, he added the multi-time WWE World Champion deserves some karma as Waller wants to remind the veteran how he used to be during his early days.
"Either way, I want to test myself against CM Punk and I want to be what he used to be. He finally deserves some karma - remember how he used to act? I want to know how it feels when you get someone on the other side of you," Waller said.
He added:
"The guys I respect the most are the guys I'm going to attack the worst, because that's how I show my respect... I think in our business now, too many guys are soft and too many guys don't want it and don't work towards it, which kind of makes me sick," Waller said. [H/T - Wide World of Sports]
Rising WWE star fires shots at CM Punk
Many stars have taken a shot or two at CM Punk following his earth-shattering return to the Stamford-based promotion as a performer in nearly a decade. It's evident that The Second City Saint will face new names in the process when the company enters a new year.
In the same interview, former WWE Tag Team Champion Grayson Waller fired a few shots at CM Punk. The 34-year-old star stated he wants to test The Second City Saint's former version, which would be embarrassed by his current state due to his recent antics.
"The passion and energy, I love that - but I also don't think CM Punk is the same guy anymore. I think if CM Punk saw who he is from 10 years ago to now and who he has become, I think he would be embarrassed," Waller said.
It'll be interesting to see The Straight Edge Star go up against some new faces in the company.
