"He was one of my best friends" - Ex-WWE star says he's not Randy Orton's go-to person anymore

Randy Orton's WWE career is hard to replicate, as the third-generation talent will easily get into the Hall of Fame when the time comes. Meanwhile, former Hardcore Champion Maven spoke about The Viper and revealed he's no longer the star's go-to person anymore.

Over two decades ago, Maven Huffman signed with WWE and started his journey as a competitor. A few years later, he was released from the Stamford-based company and hasn't returned to the promotion in any shape or form in the past few years.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, the three-time Hardcore Champion addressed his past relationship with Randy Orton when the two were best friends in the promotion. Maven stated he's no longer The Viper's go-to person as the third-generation star's inner circle has reduced compared to when the two were best friends.

"For those of you who don't know, I rode with Randy [Orton] for the better part of two to three years, and he was one of my best friends in the business. So, admittedly, I'm viewing him through rose-tinted glasses. The Randy that I used to know he had a very, very small Rolodex in his phone of people that he would trust. I'm assuming that now he has a family, that Rolodex has gotten even smaller of people he no longer trusts. Hell, I'm not on that list anymore of people of his go-to's that he would lean on," Maven said. (From 04:55 to 05:34)

Maven details how he's no longer best friends with Randy Orton after he was released from WWE

Randy Orton had a troublesome image back in the day when The Viper was working his way to the top of the card. During this time, he became friends with Maven on the brand, and the two spent a lot of time together on the road.

However, it all changed between the two when they went to separate brands and Maven's eventual release from WWE. Speaking on his channel, the three-time Hardcore Champion detailed why he's no longer best friends with the third-generation star.

"Following that, we would gradually over time lose contact, and the reason is when two people are going in opposite directions, it just happens sometimes," Huffman said.
