"He's a freak athlete" - Chad Gable on 24-year-old star's exit from WWE
WWE often releases superstars from the company due to several reasons. Recently, Chad Gable spoke about the exit of Gable Steveson from the Stamford-based promotion.
There have been very few stars from the world of sports that successfully transitioned into a successful professional wrestler. While amateur wrestling has given stars like Kurt Angle and Chad Gable, Gable Steveson failed to make an impact in professional wrestling before his unfortunate exit.
During an appearance on Gorilla Position, Alpha Academy's Chad Gable spoke about Gable Steveson. Master Gable spoke about the 24-year-old star's WWE exit and gave his two cents on why it happened:
"I don't personally know the reason. I just know that coming from an amateur background, it's very difficult to break your stone-faced mentality of just show no emotions and give your opponent nothing to play off of. If you can't break through that and allow yourself to be vulnerable and be open to the people, you can have a hard time here," Gable said. (From 19:53 to 20:23)
Gable wished luck to Steveson as the latter was transitioning into football:
"I don't know if that's what it was that for him because the physical part of it, I can't imagine that was a problem for him. He's a freak athlete in like the next-level sense of the word. So, hopefully, whatever he decides to transition into, football, I hope he does very well but for some people [amateurs, athletes and other sports person], they find out it's not for them," Gable said. Triple H wants Chad Gable to be in WWE forever
Chad Gable's trajectory changed drastically under Triple H's regime as The King of Kings wanted to ensure that the star was utilized to his full potential on WWE's main roster.
Master Gable eventually got a few matches with top stars in the industry before a storyline with Gunther. After failing to beat The Ring General, the star continued to work his way back to the top.
Sadly, Gable failed even after a heel turn against Sami Zayn. During an appearance after WWE Clash at the Castle 2024, Triple H spoke highly of the four-time tag team champion.
The King of Kings expressed he would like to see Chad Gable in the company forever. It'll be interesting to see what's next for Master Gable after an attack from Wyatt Sicks.
