"He's gotta do something" - WWE Hall of Famer on Vince McMahon launching a new company
WWE Hall of Famer Booker T has commented on Vince McMahon potentially launching a new company. It was reported that the latter was planning to start an entertainment company.
McMahon stepped down from his role as CEO and Chairman of the Board in 2022 after allegations of sexual misconduct and was replaced by his daughter, Stephanie McMahon. He then announced his retirement but changed his mind and returned to the wrestling juggernaut. However, Vince stepped down for good after Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against him alleging sexual assault and trafficking. PWInsider reported last month that he's planning to launch a new entertainment company.
Speaking on the Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T shared his thoughts on the matter, stating that Vince McMahon was not going to just sit at home and do nothing, as he's not that type of guy.
“I think whatever he’s got going on takes precedence over anything going on as far as business. The thing is, I’m sure Vince is chomping at the bit and he’s gotta do something. He’s not the type of guy to sit around the house, grow old, and do it peacefully. That’s not going to happen. He’s not going to go silently in the night. That’s not going to happen, so I can definitely see him trying to create something new. What that is, I’m not sure, but I don’t think it’s going to be a wrestling company or anything like that," said Booker. [H/T WrestlingNews.co]
Booker T says Baron Corbin should move on from wrestling after WWE departure
The former United States Champion parted ways with WWE after his contract expired. He had been with the company for over a decade.
Booker T stated on the Hall of Fame podcast that Baron Corbin should pursue a career outside professional wrestling because he thinks the latter can act.
"It's an opportunity to move on and do something else, because I think Baron Corbin can act," Booker said. "I think he can pick right up and keep this thing rolling, because he was never a guy that was a problem [or] had a problem with the script, and going out to the ring and laying that script out in front of a live crowd. He's never had that problem, so acting, I think will be a whole lot easier for him."
It'll be interesting to see where Baron Corbin lands after his WWE exit next. He's currently a free agent and can sign anywhere he wants.
