"He wanted to do more and more" - Nick Khan opens up on how famous part-time performer boosted WWE viewership

WWE CEO Nick Khan recently spoke about the impact Bad Bunny has had on the company over the last two years.

Celebrity performers have been a staple in WWE ever since WrestleMania 1. Of late, the likes of the three-time Grammy Award winner Bad Bunny and YouTube sensation Logan Paul have made a huge impact with some stellar performances inside the squared circle. Their matches have impressed not just the fans but the top management as well.

Khan was at MoffettNathanson’s Inaugural Technology, Media, and Telecom Conference this past week and spoke about the partnership between the company and the rapper.

He mentioned that Bunny was a huge fan of WWE and was very excited to be part of the company. He also recalled learning about the music star from a New York Times cover story.

"We sat there on Bad Bunny. This guy, who was not yet the number one artist, but certainly seemed on a path to that. He was not touring. He was sitting at home like all the rest of us. We reached out to him, 'What do you think of this?' 'Yeah, I’d love to do it.' He came in, lo and behold! Our Spanish viewership on the show he was on spiked by 30 or 40 percent. Obviously, the relevancy factor mattered. He wanted to do more and more." [H/T Sescoops]

Bad Bunny prevailed over Damian Priest at WWE Backlash

It was an all-out brawl between Bad Bunny and Damian Priest when the two met in a San Juan Street Fight at Backlash Premium Live Event.

The match raged on for longer than expected, and Judgment Day members Finn Balor and Dominik Mysterio came out to tilt the odds in favor of Priest.

However, Bunny also had backup in the form of the LWO. The exclamation point came when former WWE stars Savio Vega and Carlito also made an appearance. Finally, the 29-year-old planted Damian with the Bunny Destroyer for the win.
