"Heartbroken," says 30-year-old following major betrayal at recent WWE show

It is not a good time for friendships and camaraderie in WWE as creative is firing on all cylinders with regard to faction implosions. In the wake of Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley's exit from The Judgment Day, NXT The Great American Bash Week Two happened on August 6.

At the event, Wes Lee turned on The Rascalz (Zachary Wentz and Trey Miguel). They have been a unit for many years from their days in TNA. Lee and Wentz joined WWE in 2021 as MSK, they went on to become two-time NXT Tag Team Champions until Zachary was released from his contract in 2022. With NXT and TNA Wrestling working together, many stars from the Nashiville-based promotion have been appearing on the former black-and-gold brand. Wentz returned to the Tuesday night show alongside Miguel a few ago and reunited with the former NXT North American Champion.

Lee and Wentz failed to win the NXT Tag Team Championship against Nathan Frazer and Axiomin in the main event The Great American Bash Week Two, which led to the betrayal. After the bell, the 29-year-old NXT star attacked both TNA stars and left them lying before walking away.

Zachary Wentz has now taken to X/Twitter to acknowledge the incident, expressing his grief. He says he is heartbroken at what transpired but loves his brother in spite of it. His post had a few snaps of what they have been through thus far.

"I don’t even know what to say right now. Heartbroken doesn’t even begin to describe it. I still love you brother," Wentz wrote.

Wes Lee has also performed in TNA alongside The Rascalz between 2017 to 2020, before he signed with WWE.

Karrion Kross reacts to Wes Lee's heel turn on WWE NXT

Karrion Kross has been an ominous presence on RAW, focusing on breaking apart The New Day. He has especially kept an eye on Xavier Woods to manipulate the latter into 'breaking free' from the iconic stable which has held him back.

Taking to X/Twitter after Wes Lee turned on The Rascalz, Kross approved Lee's actions, saying it was the right thing to do:

"He did the right thing," Karrion Kross wrote.

In 2024, The Herald of Doomsday has taken the role of a leader in WWE with The Final Testament. His group consists of former RAW Tag Team Champions Authors of Pain. Whether his interest in Wes Lee turns into something of significance, like a main roster move for the NXT star, bears watching.
