"How are you ever gonna get this guy over?" - Wrestling writer questions WWE's booking of Braun Strowman (Exclusive)
Braun Strowman made a surprise return to WWE SmackDown this week. The Monster of all Monsters made quick work of Carmelo Hayes, taking HIM out with a running Powerslam for the win. Strowman's win might have gotten him a big pop from the fans, but Vince Russo is wondering if the Superheavyweight will ever get a consistent push on the roster.
The former WWE writer was analyzing WWE's Friday programming on week's edition of BroDown (on Backstage Pass), when he questioned Braun Strowman's booking, noting the former Universal Champion had never been able to get a steady push:
"Now, I understand he gets hurt - and he gets hurt a lot. But with all the stops and starts, Mac, how are you ever gonna get this guy over?" [24:02 onwards]
Russo's co-host chimed in with his analysis of the match between Melo and Strowman, questioning if the big man was purposely made to look bad with the way he performed or has always gotten away due to luck.
Check out Russo's response to this below:
"Awkward, awkward. He always looks awkward. Like you said, Mac, it's never smooth (with Braun Strowman's matches), it's always awkward." [25:12 onwards]
Strowman will be on the Grayson Waller Effect next Friday. The segment was taped on December 13, and Sportskeeda has the spoilers for what actually went down. Fans will have to wait till next Friday to watch all the action from SmackDown.
