Huge WWE venue destroyed by hurricane [VIDEO]
In a video that has now emerged, Hurricane Milton has completely destroyed a huge WWE venue, ripping apart the roof. This comes after the company used the venue earlier this year for one of its biggest events.
Hurricane Milton has been one of the big threats this week for residents in Florida as it makes landfall. The hurricane has been downgraded to Category 2, but the Tropicana Field venue in St. Petersburg has suffered significant destruction.
In a video that has emerged, the Tropicana Field venue's roof was torn apart by the hurricane. This comes after the stadium was set up to house thousands of first responders and the National Guard. The RAWS ALERTS X/Twitter account shared the video.
"Currently, as Hurricane Milton makes landfall as a Category 3 storm, now downgraded to Category 2, Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg has suffered significant damage, with its roof torn off by the storm's powerful winds. The stadium, which was being used as a critical shelter for thousands of first responders and National Guard troops, which was for staging operations to provide immediate rescue and relief efforts to surrounding communities for the hurricane's aftermath its not known if anyone was inside when the roof ripped off."
The video can be seen below.
The venue was used by WWE earlier this year for their Royal Rumble event, where Cody Rhodes won the men's event to later challenge Roman Reigns for the title at WrestleMania and end his four-year reign.
WWE also used Tropicana Field during a critical part of the last four years
While WWE used Tropicana Field for the Royal Rumble this year, it was not the only time the company used the venue.
During the pandemic, at a time when fans could not be brought back to the venues, Tropicana Field, along with a few other venues before and later, was used as the famous WWE Thunderdome.
It allowed fans to return to audiences, albeit digitally, to become a part of shows again.
