Hulk Hogan plans to bring the USA back together with Real American Beer (Exclusive)

WWE icon Hulk Hogan recently launched the Real American Beer brand. In an exclusive interview, the 70-year-old gave an interesting insight into how the exciting project began.

Hogan was supposed to sign autographs and take pictures with fans for two hours at a convention in Atlanta, Georgia. However, he stayed for seven hours to ensure every fan got their money's worth. One of the fans happened to be the Vice President of Pabst Blue Ribbon, a beer brand in the United States.

Speaking to Sportskeeda Wrestling Senior Editor Bill Apter, Hogan revealed how the conversation led to the creation of Real American Beer. The Hulkster also thought there was a gap in the market for a new beer due to some people boycotting Bud Light:

"I see this crazy open lane," Hogan said. "It's kinda like it's Middle America, it's Nascar, it's country-western, it's wrestling, it's baseball, mom, apple pie. It's all the above. It's Americana. And I actually said it kinda makes me feel that my idea is the beer that America's been waiting for." [7:34 – 7:54]

Hogan voiced his support for Donald Trump as the next US President at the Republican National Convention (RNC) on Thursday. However, he does not plan to send a political message through Real American Beer:

"This is a beer that I want to bring America back together, one beer at a time," Hogan continued. "Instead of going out fighting in the ring, 'Hey, you know, let's sit down in the back and drink a beer and talk about it.' If I could just get everybody to communicate, I think Hulk Hogan's Real American beer, the whole theme and the backstory is to bring America back together one beer at a time and it seems to have resonated with everybody." How Steve Austin helped Hulk Hogan

Fellow wrestling icon Stone Cold Steve Austin launched his own beer brand, Steve Austin's Broken Skull IPA, in 2015.

Asked if he would share Real American Beer with Austin, Hulk Hogan revealed how The Texas Rattlesnake already gave him some helpful words of advice:

"He kinda helped me out a lot because I told him that I was thinking about doing this and his advice to me was don't do an IPA or a lager. He goes, 'If you're gonna do this, because believe me I've been trying to do this for five years and it's a slow role,' he said, 'If you're gonna do this, come out with just a light beer.' I took him to his word. I said, 'You know what, makes a lot of sense.'" [9:14 – 9:40]
