Hulk Hogan reflects on an embarrassing moment in WWE that led to him getting beat up

Hulk Hogan has recalled an embarrassing moment he experienced during a match in WWE. It led to him getting beat up by his opponent in the ring.

One of The Hulkster's signature gestures was ripping off his shirt, which was part of his iconic entrance. He always managed to tear through it with ease, but there was one time when things didn't go smoothly, and it ended with him falling flat on his face.

During a recent appearance on Barstool Rasslin', Hulk Hogan shared that during his match with Big John Studd in the '70s, he was trying to rip off a sweatshirt that he got from a fan. However, he botched it and fell in the ring.

"So I was in St. Louis, wrestling Big John Studd, and usually in my bag, I carry like five or six T-shirts or get T-shirts from the marketing people when I first got to the venue. T-shirts were sold out and I didn't have one, so I said, 'Go out in the crowd, find somebody with a T-shirt and then let me have it and I'll take pictures with them, come after the match and meet me and stuff,'" said Hogan.

The WWE Hall of Famer continued:

So they came back with a Hulkamania sweatshirt and I'm climbing in the steel cage in St. Louis and I grabbed that sweatshirt and I tear it all the way and I got my arms all the way out and I still couldn't get it torn. And then I reached in and went to tear it again but the bottom had a ridge on it. So I dropped it down to my ankles. When I went to step out of it, I tripped and fell face-first in the cage and Studd beat the hell out of me," he added. [2:52-3:38]
