Hulk Hogan on rumors he will run for US President (Exclusive)
Hulk Hogan recently made headlines when he gave a passionate speech in support of United States presidential candidate Donald Trump at the Republican National Convention. It has been reported that the WWE icon is interested in becoming President one day. However, in an exclusive interview, the man himself dismissed those rumors.
Hogan appeared on Dan Abrams Live in June to discuss his new beer and the political situation in America. Shortly after the interview, stories emerged about the 70-year-old possibly wanting to run for President.
Speaking to Sportskeeda Wrestling Senior Editor Bill Apter, Hogan cleared up the confusion:
"Well, let's go ahead and go with the news that you read and apparently believe. I did not say that. I had someone say to me something about political office. 'What would you do?' I can't remember what it was. I said, 'Well, if I was President or Vice President, I would blah blah blah.'" [1:09 – 1:29]

Why Hulk Hogan abandoned previous US Presidency campaign
In 1998, Hulk Hogan declared on The Arsenio Hall Show that he wanted to become US President in 2000. At the time, he was part of the nWo faction in WCW and among the biggest names in wrestling.
According to Hogan, he pulled out of the campaign because he was concerned he might end up running the country:
"Many years ago, in 2000, [former WCW boss] Ted Turner talked me into going on Arsenio Hall and saying I was running for the position of President of the United States, and after about two, three months of incredible, positive feedback, I got scared because I thought I might win, so I backed right out of that. But, no, I would never [run for President]." [1:39 – 2:00]
In the same interview, Hogan revealed which three WWE stars he would face if he could still wrestle today.
