WWE News: Hulk Hogan wants to perform the Leg Drop on Vince McMahon one last time

Hulk Hogan and Vince McMahon met inside the ring at WrestleMania XIX

What's the story?

Good Morning America reporters caught up with Hulk Hogan at the grand opening of his second Hulkamania themed souvenir/memorabilia store in Orlando, Florida.

In case you didn't know...

Hulk Hogan recently opened his second store, the theme of which is centred around his career.

The store carries autographed Hulk Hogan memorabilia, souvenirs, T-shirts and other items related to Hulk Hogan and Hulkamania. The store is called “Hogan’s Beach Shop,” and the first one opened about two hours from Orlando, in Clearwater Beach, a few years ago.

The heart of the matter:

While interviewing Hogan, several topics were discussed, including the recent courtroom victory over Gawker Media where Hogan was awarded a judgment for 141 million US Dollars.

Hogan went on to explain that as a result of the judgment, Gawker filed for bankruptcy and settled in court to pay him 31 million US Dollars, which is only 22% of the amount as per the initial judgment.

Good Morning America reporters also asked Hogan about the possibility of a WWE return, to which he stated:

“If it’s meant to be, its meant to be. To make peace with the wrestling world, that would be pretty a cool ending. God, I’d love to drop that leg on Vince McMahon one last time!”

What's next?

Considering the fact that Hogan is in Orlando for autograph signings at his new store, there is still that remote possibility in the minds of Hulkamaniacs worldwide that maybe the stars will align, the pieces will all come together and Hogan will cut the curtains, making one last entrance in front of a WrestleMania crowd.

There has been no discussion coming out of WWE regarding a Hulk Hogan appearance and at this point, the chances of it happening are extremely slim. Nevertheless, anything can happen, it is WrestleMania after all.

Author’s take:

Hulk Hogan is the reason why I became a wrestling fan. Growing up in the south, I was privy to some of the very best wrestling available during my time.

However, nothing compared to the electricity felt when Hulk Hogan came to town. I realise that there is a black cloud cast over his career at the moment, but if we are truly a forgiving fan base, we should certainly consider offering that olive branch to the one who actually catapulted professional wrestling into the mainstream.

Hogan has accepted the fault for his terrible mistakes and has not run from them. At some point, we must give him an opportunity to come back, begin the healing process and finish things where he started.
