"I wasn't ashamed" - Rhea Ripley admits she cried backstage when The Judgment Day turned on her and Damian Priest
Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest had a heartbreaking night at SummerSlam 2024 when The Judgment Day members turned their backs on The Terror Twins. Recently, Mami addressed the rumors that she cried backstage following the betrayal.
SummerSlam 2024 will forever be remembered as the event when The Judgment Day changed forever. Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest were backstabbed by those that they once considered their family on the roster.
In a recent conversation with The Wrestling Classic, The Nightmare stated she cried backstage at The Biggest Party of The Summer. The Australian also explained how The Judgment Day helped her career, admitting she was not ashamed to weep after her time with the stable ended.
"The Judgment Day was really family to me, like, it really was. It helped my career so much more than I can actually put into words. I feel like that's when I started opening up and feeling comfortable going out there in front of the crowd because I had the boys that I could fall back on. It was really emotional for me. I saw something come out about The Judgment Day members, a specific one, crying backstage after everything, and I'm not ashamed of it; that was me," Ripley said.
She added:
"I was upset, like the last two and a half years of my life. It's changed now. I can't go back to that. They were my boys; they were my family, and it was really sad. But at the same time, something so good comes to an end, and the other side of it is something amazing is about to start as well. I wasn't really thinking about that because I was just so emotional. That was the most fun I've had in my career in a long time.'' (From 18:44 to 19:53)
