"I don't care what kinda heat I get" - CM Punk draws severe criticism from WWE veteran after RAW promo (Exclusive)
Former WWE head writer Vince Russo criticized CM Punk for his promo this week on RAW. The star walked down to the ring to issue a challenge to his bitter rival Drew McIntyre.
Last week on RAW, Punk beat up McIntyre with his own belt. During his promo this week, the Best in the World spoke about that beating. In a bid to get retribution for his SummerSlam loss, Punk challenged the Scottish Warrior to battle him in a Strap Match.
This week on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW, Russo claimed that CM Punk's promo lacked substance. He felt the star barely said anything to get the storyline over.
"I don't care what kinda heat I get. Punk's promo sucked. There's no meat. There's no meat to anything. Drew's wearing the bracelet, it looks better on me. They're saying nothing. They're saying zero."
The former writer also pointed out that the rivalry was now based on Punk's bracelet. He felt this was a trivial thing for the two men to be feuding about.
"You care because you're hoping he gets the bracelet back. That's exactly it. That's the stakes. A three dollar bracelet is the stakes of this match." [8:53 onwards]
Drew McIntyre accepted CM Punk's challenge this week, making the match official for Bash in Berlin.
It will be interesting to see which superstar uses the strap most effectively to inflict damage on his opponent.
