"I am currently a free agent" - 4-time champion details why she's no longer with WWE
Several notable names have left WWE under the new and old regimes. Recently, former multi-time Women's Champion Beth Phoenix detailed why she's no longer with the Stamford-based company. The 43-year-old is a one-time WWE Divas Champion and a three-time Women's Champion.
Earlier this year, there were rumors about Beth Phoenix's exit from the company. The Glamazon has dominated the women's division in the past and has made sporadic in-ring appearances for the Stamford-based promotion post-retirement.
In an interview with Chris Van Vliet on INSIGHT, the interviewer asked Beth Phoenix about her current status with the Stamford-based company. The former Divas Champion revealed she was currently a free agent and was exploring other opportunities.
“I am not. I am currently a free agent, and I have a great relationship with WWE. I treasured my time there. I feel like there’s more; there’s other opportunities that have presented themselves. I feel the motivation right now to kind of explore and explore what else is out there and explore myself. But my relationship with WWE hasn’t changed. I have so many friends there, and I appreciate and enjoy the product as I always have. I love NXT; I have a special place in my heart for NXT, of course, and just the system, and seeing young people come up and go through that excitement of developing themselves for the big time," Phoenix said. Beth Phoenix was in a major storyline under Triple H's WWE regime
A few years ago, Beth Phoenix appeared on Monday Night RAW and sided with her real-life husband, Adam Copeland (FKA Edge), to take on The Judgment Day. The Glamazon even took a Con-Chair-To from The Nightmare after the ''I Quit'' Match between Copeland and Finn Balor at Extreme Rules 2022 and was written off for months.
In 2023, she returned to in-ring competition and went after Rhea Ripley and The Judgment Day, alongside the erstwhile Edge. The real-life couple also scored a victory over Ripley and Finn Balor in a Mixed Tag Team Match at the Elimination Chamber PLE.
The Mixed Tag Team Match proved to be Beth's final in-ring outing for the Stamford-based company. It will be interesting to see if she returns to the Sports Entertainment juggernaut in the future.
