"I was happy that I never dealt with Vince, five years working there," says former WWE personality
It took several severe legal troubles to get Vince McMahon out of his seat of power in WWE. Former host of The Bump Matt Camp, though, is glad he never had to work with the 79-year-old.
Vince McMahon has been involved in his fair share of controversies, but a lawsuit from Janel Grant has seemingly spelled the permanent end of his career as an executive.
A new documentary on Netflix about his life has further added to the scrutiny around Vince McMahon. While reacting to the recent series on Busted Open Radio, Matt Camp looked back at his time in the company where he hosted The Bump from 2019 until his release in 2024.
During his five-year tenure, Matt Camp never had to deal with Vince McMahon, and he admitted he deliberately stayed off the radar:
"I was happy that I never dealt with Vince, five years working there, I didn't have to deal with Vince; I didn't want to deal with Vince. Stay off the radar, and I did." [3:20 onwards]
Matt Camp also believed that Stephanie McMahon's response to Vince's return to the WWE in 2023 was a telling sign about how her father was as a human being.
Fast forward to the present, and there is no reprieve for Vince McMahon as he faces criminal proceedings.
Matt Camp doesn't think "the blame needs to continue" in WWE about the Vince McMahon saga
As things stand, there is seemingly no way back for the disgraced ex-WWE booker, considering the allegations against him.
Vince McMahon's WWE chapter might be over, but several people in the company were close to him at one point.
Matt Camp stated that only Vince McMahon should get the heat for his actions while the promotion continues to operate. Camp, however, clarified that if more names get attached to the Vince McMahon case, WWE should duly remove them from their positions of power if required:
"I don't think the blame needs to continue. You put it on Vince, and if there are people that have been outed along the way and if there are more people that get connected to this, then they should, if there are people in the company right now that get connected to this and we don't know that yet, could or could not be, then yes, those people should be handled accordingly." [10:48 onwards]
Matt Camp was confident that the organization would take action against anyone allegedly involved in the Vince McMahon scandal. Still, only time will tell how the high-profile legal tussle ends.
