"I don't like to give him credit for any" - Sami Zayn breaks character to praise former WWE rival
Sami Zayn had many rivals in WWE throughout the different stages of his career, but one stands out the most. Recently, The Honorary Uce broke character and spoke highly of Johnny Knoxville and their WrestleMania showdown.
A few years ago, Sami Zayn was in a heated feud with Johnny Knoxville heading into WrestleMania 38 in Texas. The audience had low expectations for the match, but both stars went out of their way and created the best possible outcome after the bell rang.
In an interview on The Five Star Podcast, the four-time WWE Intercontinental Champion broke character while talking about his greatest WrestleMania moments. During their conversation, Zayn praised Knoxville and gave him credit for the match given his age and his non-wrestling background.
"Johnny Knoxville is not a wrestler. He went out there, and to his credit, and as much as I don't like to give him credit for any, he went out there at age 50 and put 20 minutes in at WrestleMania and had people on their feet," Zayn said. (From 12:22 to 12:38)

Sami Zayn addresses Kevin Owens' actions from WWE Saturday Night's Main Event
Saturday Night's Main Event ended on a high note as Cody Rhodes was stretchered out of the arena after he received a Packaged Piledriver from Kevin Owens. The card also featured Owens' former tag team partner, Sami Zayn, who lost to Drew McIntyre in the opening bout.
In an interview on In The Kliq, the four-time WWE Intercontinental Champion addressed his best friend's actions and stated he doesn't agree with most of his antics following his heel turn in October 2024.
"I don't really know what he's thinking. I don't really have time to stop and think about what he's thinking. I see some of his actions and do I agree with them? No. I understand most of them, but I don't necessarily agree with all of them," Zayn said.
It'll be interesting to see what's next for Owens and Zayn heading into 2025.
