"I don't like it" – World champion on The Wyatt Sicks' behavior after WWE debut (Exclusive)

The Wyatt Sicks posed for a picture with a fan at a Whataburger restaurant after their first appearance together on the June 17 episode of WWE RAW. NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion, EC3, is the latest wrestler to address the kayfabe-breaking image.

For many years, bad guys and other special-attraction wrestlers protected their on-screen personas by remaining in character in public. The Undertaker, for example, hardly gave any interviews under his real name, Mark Calaway, during his 30-year WWE career.

EC3 appeared on Sportskeeda Wrestling's The Wrestling Outlaws show, with host Dr. Chris Featherstone and former WWE writer Vince Russo. Regarding the photograph controversy, he said The Wyatt Sicks should not have agreed to pose with the fan.

"I don't like it," EC3 stated. "I would fully invest in the character, and if I'm coming off a big thing like that and I'm catching a picture with a fan, fan service is important. 'We don't have jobs if we don't have the fans.' I get that. But I would do something within the picture to make it seem as though the character has some integrity, even at Whataburger at 12 in the morning." [4:55 – 5:21]

EC3 on WWE's possible reaction to The Wyatt Sicks' picture

In past WWE generations, wrestlers occasionally had their storylines abruptly changed or canceled if something outside the ring affected their on-screen gimmicks.

EC3 thinks WWE management probably wanted The Wyatt Sicks to protect their characters in public as much as possible. However, he also recognizes that times have changed in the wrestling industry.

"It's up to us to protect it and I'm sure people within the office are like [sigh], kinda frown, but where are we?" EC3 continued. "It's 2024, people are in the know. I mean, personally, as a personal token of pride, I would keep it alive as much as possible. Within context too. I think there's a great way to blur the lines between the reality and the fictional reality we portray." [8:27 – 8:51]

EC3 also made an interesting remark about possibly getting involved in Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan's romance storyline on RAW.
