"I'm going to jail" - Former WWE Champion left fearing for his life following major incident with Stone Cold Steve Austin; Michael Cole involved
WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin was a nightmare to every star who stepped up against him inside the ring. However, a former WWE Champion, after a major incident with The Texas Rattlesnake in the squared circle, left fearing for his life. The star in question here is WWE Hall of Famer, JBL.
Back in 2011, Michael Cole had a feud with Jerry Lawler and was set to announce the special guest referee for his match at WrestleMania XXVII. JBL was initially announced as the special guest referee. Meanwhile, Stone Cold came out to deliver a stunner to JBL, who was also present in the ring, and poured beer on him.
On a recent episode of Sportskeeda Exclusive, 'What were they Thinking?', JBL addressed the incident and added that while driving back home, he feared a cop could pull him up and send him behind bars.
"One time, Stone Cold was making a return or something at the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, and I drove up from Texas... So, I come out, and Steve stuns me and pours beer on me. Well, I had to drive home that night, and I’m sitting there thinking, 'You know, one of these small-town local cops could pull me over this week of beer. I’m going to jail if they stop me,'" JBL said. [4:43 onwards]
Michael Cole has signed a new WWE contract
Michael Cole was absent from the recent episode of Friday Night Smackdown, which eventually led to Wade Barrett replacing him for the night for commentary. While Corey Graves stated Cole had a 'Special Assignment', it was later revealed that the veteran was on a hiatus for a 10-day family vacation.
In a recent interview with WFAN, the veteran revealed that he had signed a new contract with the company and has a lot left in himself, taking down any questions about his retirement. With the incredible work he has done over the years, it is seemingly clear that the veteran has no plans to leave the company before he retires.
