"I'm not gonna let you" - CM Punk sends massive warning to 35-year-old WWE star
CM Punk is set to serve as a special guest referee in a major WWE match. Prior to the match, he sent a warning to one of the participants.
Soon after arriving in NXT, Ethan Page managed to establish himself as a top star. Within a few weeks, he won the NXT Championship in a controversial manner, thereby starting the era of Ego.
Since then, Page has shown that he will do whatever it takes to hold onto his title. He even managed to defend it against Joe Hendry in a match where Trick Williams was the special guest referee. Next week on NXT, the former AEW star will defend the title against Williams. This time, CM Punk will serve as the special guest referee.
Tonight on NXT, Ethan Page met with Punk backstage and told him that he was not thrilled the Straight Edge Superstar was going to be the referee for his match. Punk told him that he would not let him cheat and would call the match down the middle. He also mentioned that he would raise Ethan's hand if he won the match.
"[I'm] calling it right down the middle. [I'm] not gonna let either of you cheat. I'm not gonna let you, speaking of drama, desperately try to low blow somebody behind the referee, me's, back. And I don't know if this is drama, but remember when you just fell on top of a guy unconscious to win the belt? Yeah, I don't know if that's drama but that's not gonna happen either. Look, if you're the man that you tell everybody you are, great! You get the chance to prove it Tuesday in Chicago, and I'll raise your hand. I'll even wrap that around your waist. But if you're not the guy, then I won't," said CM Punk.
It will be interesting to see whether CM Punk will indeed be able to call next week's match down the middle.
