"I’m not ready to retire" - 3-time World Champion on getting inducted into WWE Hall of Fame

WWE Superstars usually enter the illustrious Hall of Fame when they're at the end of their runs as active performers. However, Rey Mysterio recently spoke up about his Hall of Fame induction and why he entered the glorious list when he hadn't retired from wrestling.

In 2023, Rey Mysterio was thrilled to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame after working as an in-ring performer for over three decades. The Legendary Luchador made waves during the weekend of WrestleMania 39 as he revived the Latino World Order and etched his name in history as a Hall of Famer

However, the star was hesitant to enter, as he wasn't ready to retire from in-ring competition. During an appearance on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, Mysterio spoke up about the induction and how Triple H talked him into it without having to retire from professional wrestling.

“So when that was brought up to me, 'Rey, we want to induct you into the Hall of Fame' and it was Hunter that mentioned that to me. We were thinking of doing it in LA, it’s so close here to your hometown. And my first response was, but I’m not ready to retire Like, no, no, you don’t have to retire. We just think that it’s the perfect spot to induct you to the Hall of Fame. I was like, wow, I really felt it was just just such a cool moment. That was one of my goals and it was on my bucket list,” Mysterio said. (H/T Chris Van Vliet)
