"I'm still alive" - WWE Hall of Famer clears the air on a controversial moment
WWE stars were often left perplexed under the old regime, as it raised more questions than answers. Recently, former three-time WWE World Champion Rey Mysterio cleared the air on a controversial moment that transpired during the 2020 Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
The 2020 Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match was filled with controversial segments. During the Corporate Ladder gimmick match, Baron Corbin mercilessly threw Rey Mysterio and Aleister Black off the top of the tower, seemingly writing them off.
In a recent interview with WWE, several superstars were asked about their wildest moments from the gimmick match. Former World Heavyweight Champion Rey Mysterio addressed the controversial spot and jokingly stated that he's still alive, regardless of what fans assumed happened after the fall.
"Money in the Bank Ladder match, during the pandemic; that was one of the toughest ones. As you can see, I'm still alive, but I was thrown off a 15-story-high building, maybe even higher, by none other than [Baron] Corbin," Mysterio said. (From 2:17 to 2:34)

Rey Mysterio on how Triple H convinced him to join the WWE Hall of Fame
A few years ago, Rey Mysterio returned to the Stamford-based promotion for a second run with the company. The return also opened the door for Dominik Mysterio's debut in the promotion.
However, the veteran was not ready to retire and join the illustrious Hall of Fame. In an interview on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, Rey revealed how he was convinced by Triple H that he didn't need to retire to enter the Hall of Fame. The 49-year-old was inducted into the prestigious club in 2023.
“So when that was brought up to me, 'Rey, we want to induct you into the Hall of Fame,' and it was Hunter [Triple H] that mentioned that to me, 'We were thinking of doing it in LA. It’s so close here to your hometown!' And my first response was, 'But I’m not ready to retire!' Like, 'No, no, you don’t have to retire. We just think that it’s the perfect spot to induct you to the Hall of Fame,"' Mysterio said. [H/T: Chris Van Vliet]
