"I never said that" - Former champion on her WWE exit and returning to the ring
After 17 years with WWE, former Divas Champion Alicia Fox departed the company earlier this month. However, that does not mean she is done with wrestling, as she revealed recently.
Fox signed with WWE as a youngster in 2006. She spent some time at Ohio Valley Wrestling and Florida Championship Wrestling before getting called up to the main roster in 2008. She won the Divas Championship in 2010 and the 24/7 Championship in 2021.
The 36-year-old veteran last wrestled at the 2022 Royal Rumble Match. But despite the rumors that she's done with wrestling, Fox confirmed in an impromptu interview with MuscleManMalcolm, along with Melina, that she's training with Booker T in Houston.
"This is what I'm gonna do, I'm ready to go knock some ring dust off with Booker," Fox said. "Yeah, and then go work a program, the machine said that [I was done]. I never said that. Girl, this appearance has been eye-opening but the whole time I'm like, 'I never said that, I didn't put my face on that alumni, I didn't do that.'"
She even teased the possibility of wrestling Trinity and Mercedes Mone.
"I never said that, I never said that. My bags are still packed, I'm still pissed about it. So this is what I'm thinking, so I talked to Booker and Sharmell and I was like, 'Okay' and then we'll go knock at Trin's house and then we'll go knock at Sasha's house and then, everyone's like, 'Yeah,' right? If that's the forbidden door. … Okay then, well that's the plan." [H/T Post Wrestling]
Fox also seemingly confirmed the status of his career in a post on Twitter. She "unretired" and told her fans not to count her out just yet.
Alicia Fox wrestled two matches for WWE since 2019
Alicia Fox might be gearing up for a potential return to the ring, but she's been inactive for more than a year. She's also not wrestled full-time since 2019, with just two Royal Rumble appearances from that point to her departure earlier this month.
Fox's last match on WWE RAW was on the April 22, 2019, episode of the red brand against Becky Lynch. Her final match on television happened seven days later when she teamed up with Tamina in a losing effort against The IIconics.
Fox won the 24/7 Championship from R-Truth at the 2021 Women's Royal Rumble match. She also lost the title back to R-Truth after getting eliminated by Mandy Rose.
