"I owe you" - Drew McIntyre names currently injured star as his dream opponent
Drew McIntyre has been a part of some unforgettable matches in recent history. The WWE Universe enjoyed a dream match between McIntyre and his arch-nemesis, CM Punk, at Summerslam. While fans might have several other dream matches for The Scottish Warrior, the star has one of his own.
During a recent appearance at the Fanatics Fest NYC Live, Drew McIntyre sat on the panel with Big E and Tyler Breeze. The 39-year-old addressed a dream match of his own and stated that he wanted to face Big E once again if the latter made a return to the ring.
Big E suffered a career-threatening neck injury back in 2022 and has been out of action ever since. While there isn't any update on his return to the ring, McIntyre stated that he would love to see the former WWE Champion in the squared circle once again.
"I have lots of dream matches, but since we're sitting right here [...] all of us are thinking as positively as we can. We're all hoping for some big news, perhaps even a big miracle, like getting Big E back in the ring. We had a fun little round. Thank you to the world for the world title. That was one of my favorite matches, and you got the Big W, so I owe you, buddy. If that were ever to come to pass, it would be a dream match," said McIntyre.
Drew McIntyre and Big E faced each other in a WWE Championship match at Crown Jewel 2021. The former New Day member defeated The Scottish Warrior to retain his title and claim one of the biggest ones of his career.
Drew McIntyre vs CM Punk II reported to have an interesting stipulation
Following Drew McIntyre's win against CM Punk at Summerslam, the former tried to move on to the World Championship scene. However, the Best in the World attacked McIntyre on RAW last week, confirming that both men had unfinished business.
Drew McIntyre vs CM Punk II is reportedly set for WWE Bash in Berlin. However, a stipulation might add to the excitement for their Summerslam rematch. As per the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, both men are set to lock horns in a Strap Match at Bash in Berlin. Fans will have to wait and see when WWE makes their match official.
