"I was shocked," "Still recovering from it" - Kevin Owens and Cathy Kelley detail Cody Rhodes "trauma"

WWE Superstar Kevin Owens and backstage correspondent Cathy Kelley recently discussed their trauma related to Cody Rhodes' entrance. Rhodes is known for making grand entrances on the company's programming.

Since returning to World Wrestling Entertainment in 2022, Rhodes has become one of the biggest babyfaces in the company. The American Nightmare and Roman Reigns gave fans an incredible storyline that seemingly culminated in April 2024. At WrestleMania XL, the 39-year-old ended The Tribal Chief's unbelievable reign as the Undisputed WWE Champion.

There is no doubt that the Stamford-based promotion presents Rhodes as a massive star, as his entrances are a spectacle for the audience. However, Kevin Owens and Cathy Kelley are seemingly not fond of it.

During a recent episode of The OK Show, Kelley talked about a real-life childhood trauma that she still had because her mom signed her up for ice hockey lessons while she wanted to be a figure skater.

While Cathy Kelley was discussing her ice hockey lessons, she and Kevin Owens were shocked by sudden pyro shots during Cody Rhodes' entrance. Both stars referred to it as "trauma."

"I actually have some ice hockey trauma because I wanted to be a figure skater when I was five years old and my mom signed me up for ice hockey lessons. Hot pink Barbie bike helmet. I'm left-handed so they didn't have any left-handed hockey sticks my size. They cut down an adult one for me. We taped it. [Pyro for Cody Rhodes' entrance shocked Cathy Kelley backstage] I was shocked by the pyro. Still recovering from it (...) [Kevin Owens and Cathy got shocked by some more pyro] Trauma here. Trauma from ice hockey. The trauma never ends." [3:30 - 4:12]

Kevin Owens also jokingly claimed that everybody had PTSD from The American Nightmare's entrance.

"Cody's entrances. Everybody has PTSD from Cody's entrances." [3:59 - 4:03]

Cody Rhodes is set to team up with Kevin Owens and Randy Orton at WWE Money in the Bank

After Cody Rhodes successfully defended his Undisputed WWE Championship against AJ Styles in an "I Quit" Match at the 2024 Clash at the Castle Premium Live Event, Solo Sikoa's Bloodline attacked him from behind. However, Randy Orton and Kevin Owens came to The American Nightmare's aid.

On the following episode of SmackDown, Sikoa continued to target Orton, Owens, and Rhodes. He also surprisingly added another member, Jacob Fatu, to the fearsome faction.
