"I still have nightmares about this" - Former WWE champion recalls getting hit by famous finisher
A former champion recently recalled being hit by a former WWE Superstar's finisher during a match outside the Stamford-based promotion. Since her return to the company last year, Chelsea Green has impressed many fans and veterans with her performance.
Chelsea Green was drafted to SmackDown alongside teammate Piper Niven during the Draft 2024. Following the switch to the blue brand, the 33-year-old unsuccessfully challenged Roxxane Perez for the NXT Women's Championship. Her last in-ring appearance was against Bayley last Friday, which also ended in a loss.
Green recently took to X/Twitter to reshare an old update regarding a match from 2022. The said bout was between two former WWE Superstars, Matt Cardona and Rhyno, who battled it out for the ECW World Television Title at the GCW Most Notorious. Cardona won the match and became the new champion.
During the match, Matt Cardona's wife, Chelsea Green, also entered the squared circle. She went crashing through a board courtesy of the Gore from Rhyno. Sharing a video of the move, the former IMPACT Knockouts Champion noted she still has nightmares about being at the end of the devastating move.
"I still have nightmares about this," wrote Chelsea Green.

Chelsea Green says Matt Cardona will return to WWE
Matt Cardona was released from WWE in 2020. Following his departure from the wrestling promotion, the former Zack Ryder carved his way to the top of the independent scene, winning several championships across wrestling promotions.
However, Cardona's wife, Chelsea Green, is confident that the former Intercontinental Champion will return to the Stamford-based company. During her appearance on the Insight with Chris Van Vliet podcast, she stated she believes that her husband would eventually make the move. Green also expressed her desire to team up with Cardona for a match following his return.
"I am patiently waiting. Because not that I want to be partnered up with him [Matt Cardona] in WWE. That would be great. I think we could have an amazing mixed match, tag team division, whatever it is. But I don’t know. I don’t know why, I would love to know why. I would love to be a fly on the wall of kind of like the meetings of the top guys in WWE. But I do feel like in my heart of hearts, it’s only a matter of time. It feels crazy that he wouldn’t be," she said.
Matt Cardona suffered an injury last month as he tore his pec muscle. It remains to be seen when The Indy God will return to in-ring action.
