"I struggle"- The Undertaker reveals how badly he wants to be inside the ring
WWE legend The Undertaker has shared how he feels when he could not get into in-ring action anymore. The Phenom has been retired since 2020.
Despite his retirement, The Deadman has made several appearances for the promotion. The last time he was seen inside the squared circle was at WrestleMania XL when he came out to help Cody Rhodes win the Undisputed WWE Championship from Roman Reigns by choke-slamming The Rock.
During an interview on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, The Phenom stated that although he has retired, he still feels the urge to return to in-ring action.
While he didn't feel anxious, the Hall of Famer couldn't take the feeling of not getting out in the squared circle.
"I struggle. I’ve struggled since I’ve retired being at live events. I was at the Rumble [this year] because I had a 1deadMan show in Clearwater. I stayed over and I was at the Rumble and by the time the first match had gone out, I’d left. Because internally, my mind is saying, ‘You should be getting ready. You should be going out there.' I wouldn’t say anxiety, but I just get this feeling that I can’t take it... I want to be out there so bad. I want to continue to wrestle. Obviously, my body broke down and father time is undefeated."[H/T- WrestleTalk]
The Undertaker will not come out of retirement for a match
During the same interview, The Undertaker cleared the air by confirming that he wouldn't be coming out of retirement. He noted that he wouldn't be able to do what he wanted because his body won't permit it.
He detailed that if the company needed something that required his presence, he might not deny it, but he certainly would not come out of retirement for a match.
"I could do it, but I couldn't do it to the standard that I wanted to do it. But I mean yeah, there's certain things that I don't feel like I would be able to do. But after I did it I came back and I was like, I'm good now. I don't need to do this again. I'm not saying that I wouldn't if they needed something like that again, but I'm not gonna have a match or I'm not coming out of retirement," The Undertaker said.
Many fans even want to see The Undertaker in a non-wrestling role in WWE. Only time will tell if that will become a reality.
