"I don't think I'm good enough" - Heartbroken WWE star "ashamed" after major loss in title match
Ethan Page faced Tony D'Angelo for the NXT North American Championship on the latest episode of WWE NXT. The 35-year-old star was coming off a heartbreaking loss in the Men's Iron Survivor Challenge at NXT Deadline last week. Earlier in the show, Page had remarked that his career would be over if he failed to defeat D'Angelo.
Unfortunately, self-doubt appeared to weigh heavily on Page during the match. In the closing moments of the bout, D'Angelo delivered a modified Uranage to get the pin and retain his title. After the match, a devastated Ethan Page spoke briefly in a backstage interview.
The star noted that he felt he wasn't good enough among the other stars in the developmental brand. He also stated he was uncertain how to get back in the NXT Championship picture. He concluded by saying he was ashamed following the defeat.
"I say I'm All Ego, but the reality is, I don't think I am. I don't think I'm good enough to get the North American Title. I have no clue how I'm supposed to get back to the NXT Title. I'm just lost. And ashamed," the WWE star said.
