"I think it messes with his psyche" - Top WWE official comments on CM Punk's recent sugar intake

WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H recently commented on CM Punk's surprise appearance at Clash at the Castle 2024. The Straightedge Superstar showed up at the event and cost Drew McIntyre a potential win in the World Heavyweight Championship match.

With the referee incapacitated during the bout between Damian Preist and Drew McIntyre, Punk showed up wearing a referee's uniform to make the count. The Second City Saint's presence threw McIntyre off and helped Priest secure the win with the South of Heaven.

During the Clash at the Castle post-show, Triple H commented on CM Punk's calorie intake, mentioning that donuts and muffins were probably not good for him. He joked that Punk took a long flight just to ruin McIntyre's chances again. The Game was excited to see what was in store for the two men once the 45-year-old was ready to compete in the ring.

"That's a long way to fly just to be an angry man. I think, and I may be wrong, but it has something to do with his sugar intake. He's always eating donuts or muffins or something, that don't seem to be good for him. I think it messes with his psyche. One good thing is he is healing. I think he will be back soon. Obviously, we haven't seen the last of him. He is a man that will hold a grudge. He will see that grudge through to the end." [0:05 - 0:36]

Wade Barrett called for CM Punk to be fired

During the post-show, WWE announcer Wade Barrett fired shots at CM Punk. He claimed that Punk had disrupted the match and should face the consequences for it.

Barrett asked the WWE management to fire Punk for costing Drew McIntyre a potential title victory. He pointed out that The Best in the World was not cleared to be in the ring, and yet he destroyed the dreams of thousands of Scottish people and McIntyre.

The former Nexus leader also called out Triple H for allowing CM Punk to address the media during the press conference.
