"I think he's probably done with me" - Becky Lynch jokes about intentionally punching 3-time WWE champion
An accidental punch changed Becky Lynch's WWE career in 2018 as it helped her transform into The Man. She recently spoke about her memorable altercation with Dominik Mysterio on an episode of Monday Night RAW.
During the build to WrestleMania XL, The Man and Rhea Ripley often crossed paths on Monday Night RAW. In March 2024, Becky Lynch confronted 'Dirty' Dominik Mysterio after the latter stood up for Ripley. Lynch shockingly punched the second-generation star's lights out before brawling with The Eradicator.
It's rare to see female stars attack their male counterparts in the Stamford-based promotion. Hence, Becky Lynch's assault on the three-time champion was an iconic moment. In a chat with Chris Van Vliet on INSIGHT, Lynch said the punch was intentional and she had a battle scar on her knuckle after the attack.
"Oh yeah, 100%. I still have a little cut on my knuckle. Yeah, a little scab there. That was one of my favorite moments. It was really good. That was great, one of my proudest moments."
Lynch also issued a warning to Mysterio if he ever decided to take revenge.
"You think he's [Dominik Mysterio] coming after me? Well, I think he felt that punch, and he probably won't. I think he's probably done with me. I would suggest if he's smart. If he's smart, he will probably be done with me. Otherwise, round two coming up, you know." (From 22:20 to 23:22)
Becky Lynch on why she didn't get a submission victory over ex-WWE star
Becky Lynch has defeated several notable names from different generations during her tenure with the company. However, arguably the biggest match of her career took place at WrestleMania 35, where she shockingly pinned Ronda Rousey to win the WWE RAW and SmackDown Women's Championships.
The two stars never had a one-on-one match, nor did The Man make The Baddest Woman on the Planet tap out inside the square circle while the latter was part of WWE. In the same interview with Chris Van Vliet, Lynch revealed why she didn't win via submission at The Grandest Stage of Them All.
"And anyway, he's [TJ Wilson] like, maybe you have Ronda in an armbar, she looks like she's about to tap out. And so Ronda comes and we tell her the creative and say and then you're almost about to tap out. Ronda says, 'Oh no, my mom wouldn't look me in the eye or talk to me again if I looked like I was about to tap out.' All right, well, she's probably not going to tap out on the finish. So you know, she never tapped out in her career. So I understood it, respected it, and moved on quickly." [H/T - CVV]
It will be interesting to see if Rousey ever decides to return to WWE and finally have a singles bout against Lynch.
