"I think it's still sinking in" - The Motor City Machine Guns bask in their victory after this week's SmackDown

The Motor City Machine Guns are the new WWE Tag Team Champions. They defeated Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa on the latest episode of SmackDown to claim the titles.

Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin had a historic night on the blue brand as they won back-to-back matches to become the new tag team champions. They first defeated DIY and then took on the challenge of facing The Bloodline for the gold. They took down the Tongans, albeit with some help from Roman Reigns, Jimmy Uso, and Jey Uso.

While speaking with Byron Saxton on SmackDown LowDown, Sabin mentioned that the reality of the moment was still sinking in. The 42-year-old star was intent on maintaining their momentum in WWE.

"I think it's still sinking in. I'm almost kind of speechless. I don't know what to say. It's kind of unheard of to be on the fast track to success like this in WWE. This is exactly what we came here to do. We came here to prove that we're the one of the greatest tag teams of all time. There's only one place to do that, right here in the WWE," Chris Sabin said. Alex Shelley also reiterated that they were ready to put in the hard work in WWE and hold on to the titles as long as possible. He vowed that the duo would go down as the greatest tag team of all time.

"Quite frankly, it doesn't matter what we did last week. It doesn't matter what we did an hour ago. What matters right now is that we're champions and we have to hold on to these. So, the hard work is just beginning. But, you ain't seen nothing yet. We're the greatest of all time for a reason. We're gonna prove it to the WWE Universe," Alex Shelley said. [4:09 - 4:28]
