"I’ve decided to retire from professional wrestling" - Former WWE champion shares surprising message
A former WWE champion recently shared an intriguing social media update to raise curiosity among wrestling fans. The performer in question left the Stamford-based company earlier this year.
On April 23, former NXT North American Champion Trevor Lee (fka Cameron Grimes) was released from the wrestling promotion. In his last appearance inside a WWE ring, Lee lost to Bron Breakker in a singles match on the April 12 edition of Friday Night SmackDown. After wrestling on the independent scene for several months, the 31-year-old made his MLW debut last week.
Trevor Lee is quite vocal about his thoughts on football and other sports. The former Million Dollar Champion often shares social media updates regarding ongoing NFL matches. However, he recently took to his X (fka Twitter) account to joke about quitting professional wrestling and becoming a professional baseball player.
"I’ve decided to retire from Professional wrestling and start my career as a professional Baseball player. Does anyone have any leads on how to become a professional baseball player?" he wrote.

Former WWE Superstar makes a bold claim about Trevor Lee
The erstwhile Cameron Grimes' WWE release took many by surprise. He had an impressive run in NXT before joining the main roster in 2023. Unfortunately, the former SmackDown Superstar hardly got any chances to shine after joining the blue brand.
Speaking about Lee following the latter's WWE release on Sportskeeda Wrestling's The Wrestling Outlaws with Dr. Chris Featherstone and Vince Russo, EC3 claimed that Trevor Lee would always have a backup career option. The 41-year-old believes the former Cameron Grimes would succeed as a wrestling coach.
"He would be a very good coach and he will be one day, so I think that might always be the backup thing they say, 'You'll have a job for life.' He'll probably be a coach too. He's got a great mind. It's really ahead of its time, at least when I worked with him in TNA, conceiving finishes, where somebody that probably lied to him, who doesn't understand the business, notices that about him," he said. Trevor Lee challenged MLW World Middleweight Champion Mistico for the title in his debut match for the wrestling promotion. Unfortunately, he could not secure the win and the Mexican performer crossed 280 days as the champion. It remains to be seen how Lee bounces back after facing a loss on his debut.
