"I want to be your champion" - WWE RAW Superstar comments on being omitted from World Heavyweight title tournament
The World Heavyweight Championship tournament got underway this week on WWE RAW, but it appears that there was one superstar who was missing from the contest.
Mustafa Ali took on Otis instead, where he was able to emerge victorious following a 450 splash. Following the match, he commented on the fact that he was missing from the tournament and claimed that he was instead looking to become a different kind of champion.
Ali also shared the fact that he was trending on Twitter following his victory and addressed that many fans were upset that he wasn't included in the tournament.
Ali appears to be currently gaining a push with his new gimmick on WWE RAW, so may not need to be added to the title tournament in order to win a championship.
Mustafa Ali isn't the only star omitted from the WWE World Heavyweight Championship tournament
Whilst Ali has addressed his exclusion on social media, there are several other names that many fans expected to be included. LA Knight is an omission that many fans have taken to social media to comment on, since there was a belief that he would finally be given a chance.
Gunther is another star who isn't included, which was strange since Austin Theory was entered despite already holding a title. It appears that Gunther's reasoning is the fact that he recently married and is on his honeymoon this week, so he will miss the whole tournament.
Gunther was drafted to RAW as part of the recent WWE Draft and will make his return to the brand on next week's show. In his absence, Imperium came up short against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.
