"I want these kids all come out of here safe" - Triple H talks behind the scenes scare during recent WWE match
Triple H retired from in-ring competition in 2022 and took over WWE as its Chief Content Officer. He has done a fantastic job thus far. According to The Game, this is a bigger challenge than when he was a wrestler.
He touched upon the recent scare during WWE Clash at the Castle's main event between Drew McIntyre and the World Heavyweight Champion, Damian Priest. The Judgment Day star's leg was caught between the ropes while attempting a dive and it was assumed that Priest was injured. But then the champion recovered from the spot and continued with the match.
Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, Triple H admitted that he was worried about Damian Priest and how they could stop the main event match. He did not believe Priest throughout when the latter claimed there was no issue.
"We have communication with the referees, now they're trying to figure out how to get him out of there. When you see that live, I'm like, 'Oh my God. Show's over.' We're gonna have to get him out of there. Stretcher him out of there. My wheels are immediately spinning about where we go with this, and we ask, 'Is he's okay?' and a few seconds later we get, he says he's fine, and I'm like, 'There is no way he's fine,' [...] I'm thinking adrenaline here, but turns out he was totally fine."
The Game further added that he cares about the health of the WWE athletes over anything else, so there was a lot of worry during the main event:
"When you talk about nerves, it's the nerves of how well this would go, it's the nerves of the moment in time, it's the nerves of the big event. It's also the nerves of, I want these kids all come out of here safe and in one piece when it's over. Their safety comes first and foremost in everything we do. [...] It might be worse for me now. When I was, 25-30 years old, I go to the ring, I just didn't care. I just wanted to put on a good show. I didn't care what happened to me and anything else."
Damian Priest finished the match as planned, with CM Punk interrupting the proceedings in the closing moments of the bout. Punk's shenanigans helped Priest walk out of Glasgow with the World Heavyweight Championship.
Seth Rollins returns to challenge Damian Priest at WWE Money in the Bank
After a two-month hiatus, Seth Rollins is back in the fold on WWE RAW. He wasted little time last week in the opening segment to disclose his intentions.
Damian Priest cut off his promo and offered him a title match instead of Rollins entering the Money in the Bank Ladder match. The bout was later made official by RAW General Manager Adam Pearce.
Rollins was the inaugural World Heavyweight Champion, having won the new belt in May 2023. He dropped it at WWE WrestleMania in April to Drew McIntyre, who immediately lost the title to Damian Priest via Money in the Bank cash-in.
