"I will always love them" - Female star confirms she is no longer a part of top WWE faction; Triple H put them together over 2 years ago
A top WWE star has confirmed that she's no longer a part of an iconic group that is currently inactive. Triple H revived The O.C. in October 2022. The group originally consisted of AJ Styles, Luke Gallows, and Karl Anderson. However, The Game added Michin to the stable in November 2022.
Earlier this year, AJ Styles failed to defeat Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes in an ''I Quit'' Match at Clash at the Castle. He subsequently took some time off television. In the meantime, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson became mainstays on NXT. However, they haven't competed since October 1. The Phenomenal One did return to SmackDown in October but was immediately sidelined due to an injury.
Meanwhile, Michin has been given a push by the Triple H-led creative team on SmackDown. She had a feud with Nia Jax for the WWE Women's Championship and was a finalist in a tournament that was staged to crown the first-ever Women's United States Champion.
Speaking to the Casual Conversations with The Classic podcast, the star formerly known as Mia Yim was asked about the status of The O.C. She confirmed that she's currently not affiliated with the faction. However, the SmackDown Superstar added that she would always have love and respect for Styles, Gallows, and Anderson.
"It feels like a situationship, like a complicated situationship that, I don't even know what’s happening because AJ is on the dark side, but I still have so much love for him. That’s my uncle Al right there. Luke and Karl, even though they’re with AJ on the dark side, I’m like, no, regardless of what they do, I will always support them; I will always love them," Michin said. [H/T: Fightful]
Michin explains why she changed her WWE name
During her first stint in WWE, Michin was known as Mia Yim. The talented star was released in November 2021. She returned to the company in 2022 as part of The O.C. In February 2023, the 35-year-old changed her name to Michin, but some fans didn't like it.
In the same interview on Casual Conversations with The Classic, Michin explained why she had to change her name and stay away from being called Mia Yim.
"When I came back and joined [The O.C.], they said, 'You need a nickname; that’s just part of the crew.' Michin is something I've had since I was a kid, from my mom. She would call me and my sister crazy, obviously. So to me, it was my choice picking this name," she said. [H/T: eWrestlingNews]
Michin has gotten over with fans since getting an opportunity to showcase her talent. She has set her sights on the Women's United States Championship. It will be interesting to see if she wins it in the coming weeks.
