Impressive Gunther statistics unveiled following WWE Bash in Berlin win
WWE has wrapped its inaugural Bash in Berlin PLE. The big event was another massive success for the company, and it ended with another key win for Gunther. A veteran superstar just revealed stunning stats on the World Heavyweight Champion after his win over Randy Orton.
The Ring General retained in his first televised defense since dethroning Damian Priest at SummerSlam, which was right at four months after his historic 666-day Intercontinental Championship reign was ended by Sami Zayn at WrestleMania XL.
Gunther's first main roster reign came two months after his call-up from NXT. Before that, the Austrian Superstar held the NXT UK Championship for a record 870 days. After debuting on January 12, 2019, the Imperium leader dethroned Pete Dunne on April 5 at TakeOver: New York. His historic reign was ended by Ilja Dragunov on August 22, 2021, at TakeOver 36.
The Bull from Vienna has been with World Wrestling Entertainment for 2,059 days. During the Bash in Berlin pre-show, The Miz noted that Gunther has been champion for 1,564 of those days. The actual number is 1,565 according to WWE records: 870 days for his first reign, 666 days for the second, and 29 days for the current reign so far.
Gunther has been champion for 75.96% of his WWE career so far, based on this stat coming out of Bash in Berlin. In another bit of trivia, the 19-year industry veteran has wrestled 275 matches for the company. With 187 victories on record, Gunther has won 68% of his matches in NXT and on the main roster.
WWE has not named the next challenger for Gunther as of this writing. The next PLE will be Bad Blood, scheduled for Saturday, October 5, at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta.
