Injured WWE star provides massive update; he recently made one-off appearance on RAW
A former WWE World Champion who has been sidelined by injury for over two years recently provided a major update on his return status. The name in question is Big E.
The 38-year-old star suffered a serious neck injury in March 2022, fracturing his C1 and C6 vertebrae during a match on Friday Night SmackDown. The injury occurred after a botched belly-to-belly suplex move by Ridge Holland.
On the December 2, 2024, installment of the red brand, Big E returned to address the tension between Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods of The New Day. However, Woods and Kingston unexpectedly turned heel, criticized E for prioritizing his personal life, and subsequently expelled him from the group.
During an appearance on The Mike Broomhead Show, the former Intercontinental Champion revealed that he fractured three vertebrae, including his C1 in two places. Although he thankfully avoided surgery, Big E stated that he has not been medically cleared to return to WWE for in-ring competition:
"I broke my neck, two and a half years ago, in three places, including my C1 in two places. I still haven't been cleared. Thankfully, I feel great and don't have any issues, nothing like that. Didn't need surgery. I was in a hard collar for three months. There are very real risks. We had a suplex that went wrong and I've been out since. I'm grateful to have no issues, no pain, nothing like that," he said. [H/T: Fightful]

Big E makes a major non-WWE announcement
The wrestling world heavily booed The New Day duo after they kicked Big E from the group. Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods attempted to explain their actions on RAW, but the fans were unsympathetic and refused to listen to their justifications.
On X (fka Twitter), the former WWE World Champion announced that he has landed a guest-starring role in the upcoming Peacock comedy series, "Laid:"
"Thrilled to be a small part of this incredible series! #Laid premieres on @peacock December 19th!"

Only time will tell whether Big E will ever be medically cleared to return to in-ring competition.
