Is it a tease? Gunther makes bold threat to WWE legend amid rumors of his massive return at Crown Jewel
A WWE Hall of Famer is rumored to make a surprise return tonight at Crown Jewel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, World Heavyweight Champion Gunther recently made a bold threat to that legend.
Last month, The Ring General took massive shots at WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg as the latter sat in the front row at Bad Blood. The former Universal Champion then tried to get into the ring and fight Gunther. However, security interfered to separate the two. As rumors suggested Goldberg could be in Saudi Arabia tonight, many believe he might interfere in the World Heavyweight Champion's match against Cody Rhodes and cost the Imperium leader the Crown Jewel Title.
In an interview with La Previa ahead of tonight's premium live event, the Austrian star addressed his interaction with Goldberg at Bad Blood. He also threatened to teach the WWE Hall of Famer a lesson if the latter decided to return to the ring and wrestle again.
"So I was invited out there [at Bad Blood] to speak about the Crown Jewel Championship, and we had a lot of legends in the house, and I met a lot of them backstage, and one of the very few that I didn't meet that I just saw was there before was Goldberg, so when our eyes crossed, basically, I was like, 'Why not break some balls a little bit?''' he said.
Gunther added:
''He [Goldberg] doesn't seem able to take things lightly. I tried to lighten up the mood a little bit. If push comes to shove and he thinks he wants to get back into the business and wrestle again, then I'm happy to teach him a lesson!'' [H/T: POST Wrestling]
Wrestling veteran addressed Goldberg's potential return at WWE Crown Jewel
On a recent edition of the Straight Talk with the Boss podcast, wrestling veteran Magnum T.A. discussed the rumors of WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg being in Saudi Arabia ahead of Crown Jewel.
The former NWA United States Heavyweight Champion claimed Gunther could receive ''a receipt'' for what the latter did at Bad Blood tonight in Riyadh.
"There might be a receipt; there may be a receipt coming over there that might unsettle the apple cart," he said.
It will be interesting to see if Goldberg returns tonight and starts a feud with The Ring General. The former Universal Champion has not competed in a WWE ring since February 2022, when he lost to Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
