“It hurt so bad I couldn’t even feel the pain" - Liv Morgan opens up on injury that forced her out of action

Liv Morgan made her much-anticipated return to WWE television at Royal Rumble earlier this year. The Women's World Champion recently opened up about the shoulder injury that forced her out of action for six months.

The 30-year-old was scheduled to face Rhea Ripley in a singles match in July 2023. The Judgment Day member, however, attacked Morgan before the contest as Ripley decimated her former tag team partner. It was later revealed that the former Riott Squad member sustained multiple injuries, dislocating her shoulder and tearing her rotator cuff, labrum, and bicep.

During a recent conversation with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Liv Morgan shared details of her shoulder injury. The Women's World Champion claimed that the injury was so bad that she could not even feel the pain. She further mentioned how she used her time away from the ring:

"It hurt so bad I couldn’t even feel the pain. It was overwhelming. My shoulder was physically lower than where it should be. So I knew it wasn’t good. I really used that time off to focus on what I wanted, what I wanted to do, and what I wanted my career to look like. I feel different. I’m no longer just happy to be here. I know I belong," she said.

She further claimed that she trusted the universe and everything fell into place following her return from injury after six months:

"I channeled that for the six months I was out. I focused on what I wanted my revenge to look like, and I have executed every step of the way. Before, I thought it was going to be my time–but it wasn’t. I believe in divine timing and I trust the universe. Coming out of the injury on the other side, this is how and when it is supposed to be. This is how my revenge and redemption were intended to take place." [H/T: Sports Illustrated]

Liv Morgan is scheduled to defend her title on RAW

Liv Morgan announced her 'Revenge Tour' after an impressive performance during her in-ring return at Royal Rumble. On the RAW following WrestleMania, she attacked Rhea Ripley backstage. The Judgment Day member got legitimately injured and was forced to relinquish the Women's World Championship.

Becky Lynch won the Battle Royal to become the new champion, only to lose the title to Liv Morgan at King and Queen of the Ring. The latter successfully defended the gold against The Man in a Steel Cage match on the following RAW.

Liv Morgan is currently involved in a rivalry with Zelina Vega. The two WWE Superstars will lock horns tonight on RAW in a championship match. The LWO member is in pursuit of her first-ever singles title.
