"It was just chaos" - Former Women's Champion reflects on teaming with WWE Hall of Famer against The Judgment Day

The Judgment Day was initially formed by WWE Hall of Famer Edge (aka Adam Copeland) at WrestleMania 38 when he recruited Damian Priest, followed by Rhea Ripley. Recently, former three-time Women's Champion and one-time Divas Champion Beth Phoenix opened up about her feud with the villainous group after her husband, Edge, was ousted from the faction.

At Extreme Rules 2022, The Rated R Superstar battled Finn Balor in an "I Quit" match. The contest saw interference from Priest, Dominik Mysterio, and Ripley, who aided the former WWE Universal Champion. To level the playing field, The Glamazon arrived to support her husband. However, the 50-year-old legend was forced to quit when Mami threatened to inflict a con-chair-to on Beth Phoenix.

In an interview with Chris Van Vliet on INSIGHT, The Glamazon revealed that she was the one who pitched the idea of inserting herself into the WWE rivalry between Edge and The Judgment Day to elevate the storyline:

"So we were sitting and talking about that and he’s [Edge] like, 'I don’t know, maybe I can’t do Percy Jackson.' We were looking at it again, like weighing all the options. How do we do this? And I was like, 'You can use me if you want. It may be using myself as a part of this story in this moment could help alleviate some of the stress on how to book this finish.' So the I Quit match was crazy," said Beth Phoenix. [H/T: CVV]

The former WWE Women's Champion and former Divas Champion also expressed excitement about coming face-to-face with Rhea Ripley during the "I Quit" match:

"There’s a lot of moving parts in this match, you had everybody, all of Judgment Day was out there. It was just chaos and fun and crazy. But I was super excited because I’d watched Rhea come up. I was just super excited, even if that was all we did. I just wanted the opportunity to kind of get in there with her and get to be face-to-face," she added. [H/T: CVV]

Beth Phoenix reveals if she is still signed to WWE

The Glamazon's last in-ring match was at Elimination Chamber 2023. At this premium live event, the former Divas Champion paired up with The Rated R Superstar to face the duo of Finn Balor and Rhea Ripley in a Mixed Tag Team match.

The rivalry between The Judgment Day and the real-life married couple Edge and Beth Phoenix concluded when the latter defeated their opponents. Since then, fans have been speculating about Beth Phoenix's continued involvement in the Sports Entertainment juggernaut, especially given her husband Edge is signed with AEW.

During the same interaction with Chris Van Vliet, Beth Phoenix revealed that she is no longer under contract with WWE and is now a free agent:

"I am not. I am currently a free agent, I have a great relationship with WWE. I treasured my time there. I feel like there’s more, there’s other opportunities that have presented themselves," she said. [H/T: CVV]

It remains to be seen whether The Glamazon is officially retired or will grace the ring one more time for her fans.
