"It was just lazy" - Former WWE star criticizes predictable finish to Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley (Exclusive)
Former WWE star Afa Anoa'i Jr. recently spoke about Liv Morgan facing off against Rhea Ripley at SummerSlam 2024. The two women clashed for the Women's World Championship.
The match between Liv Morgan and Ripley has been months in the making after the former injured the latter on an episode of RAW. Dominik Mysterio found himself involved in the storyline after The Miracle Kid started making romantic advances at him. Although 'Dirty' Dom aligned with Mami initially, he betrayed her this week, costing her the Women's World Championship.
During an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling, Anoa'i mentioned that he enjoyed the whole match up until the finish. He felt the ending was weak and predictable. The veteran wrestler detailed that the creative team could have done better and executed a more compelling finish to the encounter.
"So match number one, I really enjoyed. It was a really hard worked match. What didn't hit for me was the finish. I thought that the match outweighed the finish. And a lot of times, I'd like to see the finish outweigh the match. It was just to me, very, very predictable. Just the way Dom slid the chair in, jumped up, and grabbed the ref was very lazy. It was just lazy. You know, match number one is the tone-setter of the show. Really good match and I just feel the finish could've been executed better." [From 7:33 onwards]
In the aftermath of the encounter, Rhea Ripley looked on in disbelief as Dominik kissed Liv Morgan on the entranceway and walked off with her without any explanation for his actions.
It will be interesting to see how Mami reacts to this betrayal on Monday Night RAW this week. Will she demand a rematch from Liv Morgan? Only time will tell.
