"It wasn't your night" - Bayley sends emotional message to 33-year-old WWE star following heartbreaking update post-SmackDown loss
This week's WWE SmackDown featured the beginning of a tournament to determine the inaugural Women's United States Champion. Many women are aiming to secure the gold and make history.
B-Fab, Bayley, and Candice LeRae competed in a Triple Threat match as part of the Women's United States Title Tournament on Friday. The Role Model reigned supreme and advanced to the next round. Meanwhile, the former Pride member reacted to her loss with a heartbreaking message, which drew a response from the first-ever Women's Grand Slam Champion.
In a recent post on X/Twitter, Bayley addressed B-Fab's performance and recalled her loss in the tournament to crown the inaugural NXT Women's Champion. The veteran added that there was nothing but good things lined up for the 33-year-old star, motivating her for the future.
"When we were introducing the first ever @WWENXT Women's Championship, I lost in the first round of the tournament. But fast forward all these years and now people align that title with our match in Brooklyn. It wasn’t your night, but don’t mean it’s not meant for you. Only up," wrote Bayley.
Will Bayley become the inaugural WWE Women's United States Champion?
While Bayley is one of the biggest names in the locker room, she might not be the favorite to become the inaugural Women's United States Champion. The SmackDown star has been on a great run lately, and her win in the first-round match has got her closer to making history.
Besides The Role Model, the ongoing tournament features several big names who could be set to become the first-ever champion. Bianca Belair, Jade Cargill, Naomi, and more are fighting to clinch the coveted gold. Meanwhile, up-and-coming performer Blair Davenport also has a good chance of securing a career-changing win.
Only time will now tell what the Stamford-based company has in store for the Women's United States Championship.
